My favorite USB-C hub, the Anker 555 is on sale for 33 percent off during Amazon’s Spring Sale — and a full 50 percent off the original retail price.
The Anker 555, currently priced at $39.99 at Amazon, simply checks all the boxes for a USB-C hub’s essential ports — two USB-A ports for a mouse and keyboard, a USB-C port, microSD/SD, plus an HDMI port and Ethernet — and that’s all. There’s a little power LED. That’s it.
The Anker 555 tops my list of the best USB-C hubs and dongles, and for good reason. It’s the big brother of the Anker hub that already lives in my backpack (inside its little travel pouch!) for any trips I take, and offers substantial expansion ports for my laptop while on the go. And if you’re still not sure, Anker gives you an 18-month “worry-free” guarantee. This is the hub that I think offers the most bang for your buck.
Anker’s MSRP for the Anker 555 is normally $79.99, though Amazon considers $59.99 to be the “full” price of the hub itself. (You can decide how much you’ve actually saved.) But there’s more: the Amazon listing also includes codes for an additional 25 percent to 50 percent off the price of the hub — though that requires you to buy an additional Anker hub or dongle to get it. It’s a good opportunity to invest in a holiday stocking stuffer, but it might be redundant if it’s just you.
The Anker 555 is a lightweight, sturdy little hub that fits in your backpack, and it’s the best of the bunch in my book. Amazon’s Spring Sale ends March 25.
